A patchy beard isn't a personality trait, this one's fixable.
Beard micropigmentation places precise pigment deposits between and within existing follicles to fill patches, even coverage, and increase overall density. The result is a beard that reads as fuller and more uniform — without implants, without medication, and without anyone being able to tell you've had anything done.

The technique works whether you have isolated patches — the kind that show up on the jaw, chin, or cheek — or overall thinness across the full beard. We offer a targeted spot treatment for discrete areas and a full beard treatment for clients who want density addressed comprehensively. Both are built across two sessions using the same layered approach as our scalp work: lighter pigment first, deeper tones second, with a touch-up session available if needed.

The Upgrade Department works with beard clients across the full spectrum — from men in their 20s who've never been able to grow a full beard, to clients in their 40s and 50s who've noticed coverage thinning over time. The beard work is subtle by design. It adds without announcing itself.

Brow micropigmentation at The Upgrade Department is rendered exclusively in fine individual hair strokes — not dots, not powder fill, not anything that looks applied. The goal is always the same: a brow that looks like it grew there, just better.

We work with clients who have sparse brows, overplucked brows, brows with gaps or uneven coverage, and clients who simply want a more defined shape without daily grooming. The strokes are placed to follow the natural direction and angle of existing hair — working with what's there rather than imposing a shape on top of it.

This is not a service The Upgrade Department offers as an afterthought. The brow work requires the same technical precision as our scalp and beard treatments, and the same commitment to results that don't read as cosmetic. Men with sparse or uneven brows represent a significantly underserved market — and the right brow work on the right client is one of the more quietly transformative things we do.

What people ask before they book.
No — when done correctly. The pigment is placed at a shallow depth using needles sized for facial skin, and the color is matched precisely to your existing beard hair. The result reads as fuller hair, not as ink. The dimensional layering across two sessions is what keeps it from looking flat or artificial.
It can create the appearance of a beard on bare skin — but results are most natural when there's at least some existing hair to anchor the work. This is something we assess at consultation and will be honest about. If the result won't be what you're hoping for, we'll tell you.
Not here. We use individual hair strokes exclusively — no powder fill, no block color, no dot technique. The strokes follow the natural direction and angle of your existing brow hair. Up close and in movement, it reads as hair. That's the only standard we work to.
No — and the assumption that it is is part of why so many men walk around with brows that don't serve their face. Sparse, uneven, or overplucked brows affect men too. The treatment at The Upgrade Department is calibrated specifically for male brow anatomy — the strokes are thicker, the shape is less arched, and the result is always masculine.
Both are permanent, with the same gradual softening over time as scalp SMP. Facial skin is more active than the scalp — more sun exposure, more movement, more skincare product contact — so touch-ups may be relevant slightly sooner, typically every 3–5 years. The SPF included in your skincare edit helps significantly.
